Ruby Canyon Engineering enacted a new policy in 2017, allowing employees two paid volunteer days at a local organization of their choosing in addition to one paid group volunteer day each year. This year, RCE partnered with the Tamarisk Coalition and Colorado Parks & Wildlife to help with revegetation and clean-up efforts at state parks. Employees and families of the employees spent the day removing invasive species and trash nearby the Connected Lakes region in Grand Junction, CO as well as placing and adjusting cages on Cottonwood trees. Colorado Parks & Wildlife was thrilled to receive the help, and mentioned that it receives an hourly grant amount for work completed by volunteers as opposed to staff members.
