GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. – Ruby Canyon Engineering President Michael Coté is speaking at the 2011 Navigating the American Carbon World (NACW) Conference http://www.nacw2011.orgin Los Angeles on April 13.
“It’s an honor to speak at such an event,” Coté said. “This is the largest carbon event in North America, where business leaders, environmentalists and policy makers all come together to discuss the impacts of climate change policy and the future of North American carbon markets.”
Coté will participate in a panel discussion on the role of carbon offsets from the point of view of Ruby Canyon Engineering’s project verification experience, specifically for ozone depleting substances (ODS) and livestock manure protocols. These offset types have been accepted by the Air Resources Board (ARB) under AB32 (California’s Global Warming Solutions Act of 2006). The bill establishes a timetable to bring California into compliance with greenhouse gas emission reduction goals by 2020 through a cap-and-trade program.
Other presenters alongside Coté are Charles Purshouse, Camco; Jeff Cohen, EOS Climate; and Rajinder Sahota, California Air Resources Board.
